What is the difference between SmoothPeel™ laser resurfacing and other resurfacing techniques such as microdermabrasion and chemical peels? Specifically, the SmoothPeel™ laser treatment allows for deeper, more precise exfoliation, which translates into long-lasting and visible cosmetic results that can NOT be achieved through conventional exfoliation techniques. All consultations are FREE and we offer a discount on packages. What type of laser is the SmoothPeel? The SmoothPeel™ is an Erbium: YAG laser with a treatment wavelength of 2940 nanometers. This particular wavelength of light is very attracted to water molecules and because the surface of the skin has a high water content, the SmoothPeel™ laser is excellent for exfoliating the uppermost layers of dead or damaged skin cells in a precise and controlled manner. What can I expect from a SmoothPeel™ laser treatment? A SmoothPeel™ laser treatment is comfortable and requires no anesthesia. Treatments vary in intensity and depend largely on client needs and expectations. Light, medium and deep laser peels are available. Generally speaking, the deeper the laser peel, the longer the potential recovery period. Most clients can resume normal daily activities immediately following their SmoothPeel™ laser treatment. A client undergoing a laser peel should expect the following: Redness or ‘pinkening’ of the skin in the treatment area. This may last a few days to several weeks depending on the peel depth. Make-up can used post- treatment as long as there is no breaks in the skin. Mild to moderate skin flaking / peeling which usually begins 2-4 days post treatment and may last for 3-4 days. For anti-aging benefits, the SmoothPeel® laser is best combined with Laser Skin Tightening. Whereas SmoothPeel improves the skin from the outside-in, Laser Skin Tightening tightens and lifts the skin from the inside-out.
